Continuing with my purpose of finishing all the games I can (trying to focus on them, not starting other games…), I’ve already finished the first one of the year, Metro 2033 Redux.
Developed by 4A Games and first released on PC and Xbox 360 in 2010, the game is remotely based on novel Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky. I played a bit the PC version but I really dig into the game with past year’s re-release, Metro 2033 Redux (PC, Xbox One, PS4). The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow (I really like new settings on games), mostly in the tunnels because of the radiation you find outside. The Story is simple, a typical journey trying to save your home and through which you’ll learn more about what happened, but also has some supernatural touches.
It’s a FPS game, but tries (sometimes not successfully) to mix different game mechanics (some exploration, shooting both monsters or other humans, stealth..) and you can approach most of the situations with a more action focused or a more stealth focused (sometimes, like during the library chapter, is better to take this latter approach). You can also find some bases where you can interact, buy/sell items, improve weapons… and walk without being worried about monsters.
The game doesn’t have a Photo Mode, so the captures are just direct feed while playing (and contrary to other games, and didn’t take a lot, especially you’ll notice a lack of captures while shooting) but a think they can represent properly what you can find while playing it, even if I probably update some of them in the future.
Spoiler alert: some images are from the ending part of the game. By the way, after finishing I learnt that there are two different endings. Now, the gallery:
