From a personal point of view, it has been a bit strange Fall gaming season. I missed some big (at least in budget) releases like Battlefield 1, Mafia III (still have to play Mafia II), Dishonored II (still have to finish first one), Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (I only have bought and played Modern Warfare Trilogy), Watch_Dogs 2 (finished first one this year and probably will play this one soon) or Final Fantasy XV (still have a lot to play and thought didn’t have enough time) … And then we have Titanfall 2. Never played first one (being online only didn’t help), but was interested because it was going to have a campaign and really liked the DLC plan being free (maps and modes, at least). Tried the beta a bit, but in the end, I didn’t buy at launch.
The game apparently hasn’t been a big success. Being a not really popular FPS franchise sandwiched between Battlefield and Call of Duty, this was easy to see coming. So, the price dropped fast and as I was reading that campaign was amazing and decided to buy it. And well, they were right, campaign is amazing. Probably the first moments are a bit slow or I was expecting more from the comments, but then the game start gaining speed, starts mixing Titan action with on-foot action, some platforming with intense shootouts, and, finally, this level arrives. It’s called “Effect and Cause” and is one of the best I’ve played in my recent memory. Some spoilers coming… Basically, it mixes the action of two different timelines and you can (and have) to change between them, to fight, to find the way, to have a break, including some amazing moments and ending with a beautiful time stopped sequence. After this level, campaign continues being great, with another great moments, but this level will be remembered for a long time.
