Music | Ridge Racer Type 4 (1998)

Tokyo Game Show starts this week and this month also marks PlayStation’s 2oth Anniversary in America and Europe. Right now there’s one classic title we are missing and that’s Ridge Racer. After appearing in every single PlayStation release, this saga missed PS4’s launch and we haven’t got news about it since Ridge Racer Unbounded (and a F2P version) and Ridge Racer for Vita, which wasn’t very good. Right now I’m enjoying PSP version but for this entry wanted a classic title. Even with the infamous Kaz Hirai Ridge Racer announcement only Ridge Racer Type 4 is actually available in PS Store, it’s a great game, the last on first PlayStation and with a great soundtrack.

Composed by Namco Sound Team (Kohta Takahashi, Hiroshi Okubo, Asuka Sakai, Tetsukazu Nakanishi, and Koji Nakagawa), today I’m sharing here three songs recorded directly from game’s Music Player and the intro (and main theme) as a bonus. Hope we’ll see a real Ridge Racer 8 one day (after Final Fantasy VII remake and Shenmue III annoucements, anything is possible xD)
