2nd Anniversary of Gran Turismo 5 (PS3, 2010)

Two years ago, Gran Turismo 5 was finally released on PlayStation 3 (November 24th in Europe an US, November 25th in Japan and Australia). After a long and difficult development (first Gran Turismo HD was announced, then GT5 Prologue and after that, development took another two years), finally I could play a game I was waiting for a long time.

My love for Gran Turismo has been progressing, but right now, is one of my favourites sagas (even more playing with a good wheel, something I discovered with GT5). But to be honest, the game was flawed when it was released, with technical problems, not well structured content and disappointing career mode and license use (NASCAR, WRC…). After that, Polyphony made an incredible job with constant (and free) updates and some pay DLC (still waiting more tracks, the offer has been disappointing and a bit expensive, to be honest), and right now I think that it’s a great game.

The main point is what you feel driving the game and no other console game (PC Racing Sims is another league) gets you where GT does. The other thing that have made this game so special is the possibility of playing multiple championship with other online partners. With the folks of http://www.vandal.net, we made five online championship, with long races and I discover another kind of competition. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enought time to made lots of good videos of those races, but there are some of them that I’ll like to share with you:

That’s all. I know we’ll see GT6 on PS4, I’m really waiting to see what Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital can deliver, surely will be great.
